COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
No. 99-04 I
January 13, 1999
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members
FROM: James L. Williams, Jr., City Mana er
Cecil A. Collins, Jr., Director
Kathy J. Miller, Planner r4
/
SUBJECT: Annexation of premises commonly known as 4107 Dean Drive
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City Clerk's
Office. Containing 0.46 acres, the area in question is presently developed with a single family
I dwelling. The main reason for requesting annexation is to obtain city water to serve the esting
dwelling.
The following data has been compiled relative to the proposed annexation:
1. An esting watermain is located along Dean Drive adjacent to the
subject tract; service is readily available.
2. The existing residence is served by an individual septic system. Sanitary
sewer is not available; the nearest sanitary sewer is located 1200 feet
southeast at Bachrach Court, on the other side of the creek.
3. Additional annual revenue of appromately $500 would become
available from the combined total of real estate, motor fuel, and state
income taxes.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of the
corporate limits.
Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented.
