 Page 2
Newell agrees there is an argument for having the stop intersections staggered as suggested, but
the real thing is that, unless the residents request and support the change, the City does not
usually change it, especially when talking about moving stop signs around from one street to ',
another. The request to install stop signs was brought to the Commission from a resident in the ,
area. Staff looked at the situation at Hayden and Airlane and found there were accidents, and
Newell believed it needed to be addressed by the Commission. If stais review shows there is no
reason for it to come to the Commission, the residents are asked to bring in a petition to show
there is neighborhood support.
Moore noticed that traffic was slower on Airlane than on Beacon, which may be because of the
curved streets in Baker Woods. He believes there is more of a problem at Green Meadow coming
from the north. He concurs with the staff recommendation.
It was moved and seconded (Moore / Sober) to accept the staff recommendation that yield signs
' be installed at the intersection of Hayden and Airlane Drives facing Hayden. There being no one
' opposed, the motion carried.
