Newell, P.E., Traffic Enginee/��� <br /> SUBJECT: Class II Truck Routes <br /> An item on the agenda for the City Council Meeting to be held on May 18, 1998, is an <br /> ordinance designating various streets in the City as Class II Truck Routes. Designation as a Class <br /> II Truck Route will, in essence, allow the routine passage of up to 80,000 lb. trucks. Currently, <br /> unless otherwise prohibited, City streets allow up to 73,280 lb. trucks. The streets proposed ' <br /> herein as Class II Truck Routes are as follows (see attached map): <br /> 1. Garfield Avenue from Jasper Street to North Main Street. <br /> 2. Jasper Street from Garfield Avenue to Sangamon Street. <br /> 3. Brush Colle eg Road from Faries Parkway to William Street (Ill. Rt. 105). <br /> The City cunently allows class II trucks on the following arterial streets (see attached map): <br /> 1. Jasper Street from Pershing Road to Garfield Avenue. <br /> 2. Garfield Avenue/Faries Parkway from Jasper Street to the east City limits. <br /> Additionally, all of the State routes through the City allow Class II Trucks and the County <br /> owned portion of Brush College Road is a Class II Truck Route. Sta.ff has proposed the current <br /> additions to the truck route system based upon input from the Illinois State Police and some area <br /> businesses. The proposed truck routes are logical connections to the current Class II system. <br />
