a • ORDINANCE NO. 98-03 ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE - CHAPTER 13 - - POLICE DEPARTMENT - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Chapter 13 of the City Code of the City of Decatur be, and the same is hereby modified and amended at Section 7 thereof, so that said Section 7, as modified and amended shall provide as follows: 7. QUALIFICATIONS AND LIMITATIONS ON DUTIES. Such auxiliary policemen shall not be members of the regular police department of the City and shall not supplement members of the regular police department in the performance of their assigned and normal duties except as otherwise provided in this chapter or as provided by applicable statute. Auxiliary policemen shall reside within the corporate limits of Macon County and within fifteen (15) miles of the corporate limits of the City of Decatur. The uniforms and identification symbols worn by such auxiliary policemen shall be different and I distinct from those worn and used by members of the regular police �I department which uniforms and symbols shall be selected by the Police Chief. Auxiliary policemen shall at all times during the performance of their duties be subject to the direction and control of the Police Chief. Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the provisions hereof to be appropriately set out in the City Code and to cause the same to be published in pamphlet form according to law.
