COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
NO. 97-131
December 30, 1997
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and
City Counci Members
FROM: 7ames L. Williams, ., City Manager
Debora L. Bean, ting Community Development Director /j.8
Robert A. McQueen, Senior Planner (
SUBJECT: Annexation of premises commonly known as 3960 and 4014 North Taylor
Avenue
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises has been filed with the City
Clerk's Office. Containing one acre, the area in question is presently subdivided as two
separate lots, which are each developed with a single family dwelling The main reason for
requesting annexation is to obtain City water to serve the existing dwellings.
The following data has been compiled relative to the proposed annexation:
1. An esting watermain is located along North Taylor Avenue adjacent to
the subject lots; service is readily available.
2. The esting dwellings are served by an individual septic tank system; the
nearest sanitary sewer is located just east of North Taylor Avenue
appromately 400 feet north of the area in question.
3. Additional annual revenue of appromately $830.00 would become
available from the combined total of real estate, motor fuel, and state
income taxes.
Staff is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce a logical extension of
the corporate limits; we recommend approval of the petition as presented.
