McQueen, Senior Planner �� <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinances Rezoning a Tract East of Route 121 and One Quarter �'�, <br /> Mile South of Route 36 from R-1 to R-6 and Rezoning ��, <br /> Tract East of Route 121 and One Quarter Mile South of ' <br /> Route 36 from R-1 to B-2 <br /> The subject petitions request that a 38 acre tract of land located east of Route 121 approximately <br /> one quarter mile south of Route 36 be rezoned in part from R-1 Single Family Residence District <br /> to R-6 Multiple Dwelling District and in part from R-1 Single Family Residence District to B-2 <br /> Commercial District. The east 470 feet (14 acres) of said tract, which is approximately the east <br /> one third, is proposed for R-6 Multiple Dwelling District, while the balance of the tract (24 acres) <br /> fronting on Route 121 is proposed for B-2 Commercial District. The area in question was <br /> recently annexed to the City of Decatur in conjunction with an annexation agreement. One of the <br /> provisions of said agreement was that the proposed zoning classifications be approved by the <br /> City. The Decatur City Plan Commission has reviewed these petitions and recommended <br /> approval of the same; an excerpt of the minutes for said Plan Commission meeting are included <br /> herewith. <br /> Staff recommends approval of the subject petitions as presented. • <br />
