Newelt, P.E., Traftic Engineeri�� <br /> SUBJECT: On-Street Overnight Parking of Semi-Trucks <br /> An item on the agenda for the City Council meeting of Monday, June 16, 1997, is an <br /> ordinance that changes the sections dealing with on-street semi-truck parking in Chapter 34 of the <br /> City Code. These changes where brought before the City Council at a Study Session on May 12, <br /> 1997. The changes recommended by City staff will increase the fines and enforceability <br /> associated with the on-street semi-truck parking violations contained within the Code. These <br /> changes are consistent with direction given to staff by the City Council. <br /> The proposed change is as follows: <br /> Section 21. Night Parking Semi-Trucks: The restricted hours for on-street semi-truck <br /> paxking have been expanded to be from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. <br /> Section 79. Settlement of Fine: The current fine for night parking of semi-trucks has <br /> provided no deterrent. The increased fine is proposed to encourage better <br /> adherence to the code. <br /> Section Title Existin� Proqosed <br /> 21 Night Parking Semi-Trucks $5.00 $50.00 <br /> Sta.ff will be available to answer questions the City Council may have.
