ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY � -LYING BETWEEN 1100 AND 1200 BLOCKS OF WEST MAIN AND WEST WOOD STREETS - 'v from Millikin Universi owner of ro e WHEREAS, a request has been recei ed ty, p p rty ' abuttin thereon, re uestin the vacation b the City Council of that alley in the City of Decatur, g q g Y Illinois described as: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot One (1) of Marilla Dunham Place, as per Plat recorded in Book 149 Page 285 of the records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois, thence South to the NE corner of Lot Forty-Eight (48) of said Addition, thence West to a point, said point being on the North line of Lot Twenty-Five (25) of said Addition and the East right-of-way line of Fairview Avenue, thence North to a point, said point being the South line of Lot Twenty-Four (24) of said Addition and the East right-of-way line of Fairview Avenue, thence East to the point of beginning, and, WHEREAS, said alley is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owner of the property abutting thereon as an alley; and, WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said alley and the public will be relieved from the further burden and responsibility of maintaining the same.
