Bickes and Jerry H. Bickes, <br /> owners of property abutting thereon, requesting the vacation by the City Council of that portion <br /> of an alley in the City of Decatur, Illinois described as: <br /> An alley sixteen (16) feet in width located adjacent and South of <br /> Lots Five (5) through Ten (10) in Block One (1) of Dunham's <br /> Addition to the City of Decatur, as per Plat recorded in Book 149, <br /> Page 113 of the records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, <br /> Illinois; and, <br /> WHEREAS, said portion of said alley is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to <br /> the owner of the property abutt ing thereon as an alley; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said alley and the public will <br /> be relieved from the further burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCII, OF TI� CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, II,LINOIS: <br /> Section l. That the above described portion of alley be, and the same is hereby, vacated as <br /> a public a11ey inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public interest will <br /> be subserved by such vacation, said portion of alley being shown on the plat thereof hereto <br /> attached and hereby made a part hereof. <br /> Section 2. That there is hereby reserved in, over, along and under the above-described <br /> alley to the City of Decatur, Illinois, and to the public and to those utilities and companies as the <br /> case may be owning public service facilities, mains, sewers, telephone and electric or other public <br /> utilities, such property, rights of way and easements as are or may be necessary or desirable for <br />
