Petitioner does not object to the reasonable reservation <br /> in, over, along and under that portion of said street and said <br /> alleys, proposed to be vacated, to the City of Decatur and to <br /> I those public utilities, as the case may be, owning such facili- <br /> ties, such property rights of way and easements, as in the <br /> judgment of the City of Decatur are necessary or desirable for <br /> continuing public service by means of those facilities and for <br /> the maintenance, renewal and reconstruction thereof. <br /> 8 . Petitioner submits that the benefit to the public of <br /> relief from further burden and responsibility of maintaining said <br /> street and alleys proposed to be vacated, the reduction in <br /> vandalism and dumping of refuse, and the improvement of the <br /> economic environment that should result from the vacation of said <br /> stub street and alleys equals or exceeds the benefits which will <br /> accrue to Petitioner. Therefore, Petitioner requests the City of <br /> Decatur, in its discretion, waive compensation to vacate said <br /> street and alleys, or in the alternative, that any compensation <br /> proposed to be paid be a nominal amount after due consideration <br /> of the public benefit to be achieved. <br /> WHEREFORE, Petitioner, Decatur Foundry, Inc. , a corporation, <br /> request the City of Decatur present and pass an ordinance at the <br /> earliest available date vacating said east Olive stub street and <br /> portions of the alleys extending north and south therefrom as set <br /> forth in this Petition and vest title in Decatur Foundry, Inc. , a <br /> corporation, as owner of the land abutting thereon. <br />
