McQueen, Senior Planner (Ze�''�� <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Granting Special Use Permit to Allow Cemetery Located <br /> on the North Side of the 2500 Block of Riedel Road <br /> The subject petition requests a special use permit to allow the expansion of Boiling Springs <br /> Cemetery, which is located at the northwest corner of Riedel Road and Boiling Springs Road. <br /> The proposed ex�;ansion would be immediately west and north of the existing cemetery. While <br /> the existing cemetery is outside of the corporate limits, the area in question and other land to the <br /> north and west is within the City of Decatur and zoned R-1 Single Family Residential. The <br /> existing cemetery is zoned agriculture and land to the east and south thereof is zoned residential <br /> under Macon County Zoning. <br /> A portion of the area proposed for expansion of the cemetery is outside of the corporate <br /> boundary, and a special use permit is presently being requested from Macon County for that area. <br /> Staff recommends approval of the petition as presented. <br />
