ORDINANCE NO. 96-52 ORDINANCE REVERSING A DECISION OF THE I ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS I - 255 WEST PERSHING STREET- WHEREAS, on July 18, 1996, pursuant to notice as required by statute, the Decatur Zoning � Board of Appeals held a public hearing upon the petition of OCI Corp. of Michigan for a variation in � the square footage limits for billboard sign faces in a B-2 Commercial District from the permitted 300 square feet per sign face to the requested 600 square feet per sign face, for the premises legally described as follows: Lot Two (2) of Main & Pershing Addition as per Plat recorded in Book 1832 Page 324 of the records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, after due consideration and upon an af�irmative vote of less than five(5) members thereof, said Zoning Board of Appeals did approve the prayer of said petition and did vary the provisions of said Zoning Ordinance as requested; and, WHEREAS, William B. Turner, Building Inspection Supervisor, has timely filed an appeal of said Board decision with the City Clerk, pursuant to Section XXIII(D) of the Zoning Ordinance, seeking reversal of said decision and a denial of said request for variance. NOW, TI�REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY TI� CITY COUNCII. OF TI� CITY OF DECATUR, II.LINOIS: Section 1. That the appeal of William B. Turner, as described herein be, and the same is hereby, received, placed on file and approved, and the aforesaid decision of the Zoning Board of Appeals be, and the same is hereby, disapproved and reversed, and said request for variance be, and the same is hereby, denied.
