° - . <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 96-44 <br /> ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION <br /> OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR IN CENTRAL PARK <br /> AND ON PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> DOWNTOWN DECATUR COUNCIL <br /> VVF�REAS, The Downtown Decatur Council has planned the "Cruisin Downtown <br /> Decatur" event scheduled for Saturday, July 13; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Downtown Decatur Council to offer alcoholic <br /> beverages for sale to its patrons for consumption at this event; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor in Central Park and on public <br /> rights-of-way requires the express approval of the City Council; and, <br /> VVf�REAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the Downtown <br /> Decatur Council and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described <br /> be pernutted for said limited time period. <br /> NOW, TI�REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY TI� CITY COUNCII, OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That on the day listed herein, and only on such day, between the hours listed <br /> opposite, only those alcoholic beverages listed below may be consumed in Central Park and on <br /> public rights-of-way located in downtown Decatur, said day and hours being particularly described <br /> as follows: <br /> Saturday, 7uly 13, 1996 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Beer and Wine Only <br /> Section 2. That those portions of public rights-of-way at, in, or on which beer and wine <br /> may be consumed, on the day and during the hours listed in Section 1 hereof, are described as <br /> follows: <br /> North Merchant Street between East Main Street and East Prairie Street; <br /> East Prairie Street between North Main Street and North Water Street; <br /> North Water Street between North Park Street and East Main Street; <br /> North Park Street between North Franklin Street and North Water Street; <br /> South Park Street between North Franklin Street and North Water Street. <br /> Section 3. That between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 1996, <br /> no person, firm, or corporation having a Class A, B or C local liquor license issued pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Chapter 52 of the City Code and 235 II,CS 5/1-1 et. seq., for premises having <br /> frontage on those streets, or portions thereof, listed in Section 2 hereof, or located in the B-4 <br /> Central Business District, as established by the Zoning Ordinance, shall sell alcoholic liquor at <br /> retail for consumption on or off said premises at any location on said premises except from within <br /> a permanent structure located thereon and in existence on the date hereof. <br />
