ORDINANCE NO. 96-31 ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR IN CENTRAL PARK DOWNTOWN DECATUR COUNCIL WHEREAS, The Downtown Decatur Council has planned the Second Annual Ethnic Festival in Central Park scheduled for Thursday, 7une 6, through Saturday, June 8. 1996; and, WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Downtown Decatur Council to offer alcoholic beverages for sale to its patrons for consumption at this event; and, WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor in Central Park requires the express � approval of the City Council; and, WI-�REAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the Downtown Decatur Council and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described , be pernutted for said limited time period. ', NOW, TI-�REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-� CITY �I OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: ' Section 1. That on the days listed herein, and only on such days, between the hours listed opposite each, only those alcoholic beverages listed below may be consumed in Central Park located in downtown Decatur, said days and hours being particularly described as follows: Thursday, 7une 6 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Beer and Wine Only Friday, 7une'7 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Beer and Wine Only Saturday, 7une 8 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Beer and Wine Only Section 2. That no alcoholic beverage may be consumed as provided herein unless such alcoholic beverage is in a plastic or paper cup. Section 3. That except as otherwise provided herein, the provisions of Section 34 (a) of Chapter 52 of the City Code remain in full force and effect.
