t ,
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
NO. 96-59
April 10, 1996
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members
FROM: Daniel R. Sommerfeldt, City Manager
George C. Weaver, Director of Community Development ,
Robert A. McQueen, Senior Planner
SUBJECT: Rezoning 3201-3241 North Woodford Street
The subject petition requests that premises commonly known as 3201-3241 North Woodford
Street be rezoned from R-1 Single Family Residence District to M-1 Light Industrial District.
Containing approximately three acres, the area in question is presently developed with two single
family dwellings. The purpose of the proposed zone is to allow new commercial/industrial
development.
Adjoining properties to the north and south and property to the east across North Woodford
Street are all zoned M-1 Light Industrial. Also, property to the north approximately eight
hundred feet was recently rezoned to M-1 Light Industrial. The Comprehensive Land Use Plan
calis for the entire area north of Pershing Road between Woodford Street and Charles Street
north to Hays Avenue to be light industrial development.
Staff recognizes the proposed zone as being in keeping with land use and zoning patterns as
noted and the Comprehensive Land Use Plan; we recommend approval of the petition as
presented.
