� i . � <br /> '`� . j, � . <br /> :s } <br /> 3 i <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 95-78 <br /> AN ORDINANCE MAKING THE ANNUAL <br /> TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OF DECATUR <br /> FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1995-1996 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois is a home rule unit of local government as defined <br /> by, and having the powers enumerated in, Constitution of Illinois 1970, Article VII, Section 6(a); <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, for the fiscal period for which levy is made hereby, the Council has duly <br /> appropriated amounts in excess of said levy for the objects and purposes shown by the copy of the <br /> Appropriation Ordinance hereto attached and hereby made a part hereof. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That there is hereby levied upon all the taxable property within the corporate <br /> limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, as the same is ta�ced and equalized for State and County <br /> purposes for the fiscal year beginning with the lst day of May, 1995, and ending on the 30th day <br /> of April, 1996, the sum of Five Million Six Hundred Twenty-Three Thousand Nine Hundred and <br /> Twenty-Two Dollaxs ($5,623,922) the objects and purposes for which said sum is hereby levied <br /> and is apportioned among the several objects and purposes herein specified as follows: <br /> For the operation of Public Library <br /> Reading Rooms to be known as the <br /> Library Fund $ 2,269,574 <br /> For Police Pension, as required by law 677,043 <br /> For Fire Pension, as required by law 764,615 <br /> For employment of a Municipal Band for <br /> Municipal purposes 55,000 <br /> For the purpose of Police Protection in <br /> the City of Decatur, Illinois to pay <br /> salaries to police 621,347 <br /> For the Public Benefit Fund for <br /> Municipal purposes 129,698 <br />
