(Page 2)
generally located west of Greenswitch Road between East
Mound Road and Finch Drive. Portions of this residential
development fronting along Mound Road have recently been
annexed, and staff has previously anticipated ultimate
requests for annexation of the entire area. Further, this
area as noted is a portion of a larger residential
development extending north of Mound Road, which larger
development is nearly surrounded by the corporate limits.
Recognizing the existing corporate boundary as noted, staff
is of the opinion that the proposed annexation would produce
a logical extension of the corporate limits in this
suburban residential development. This annexation would
result in two small areas between Mound Road and Finch Drive
being entirely surrounded by the corporate limits;
subsequent annexation action could be taken to annex the
same. As previously noted, staff foresees future annexation
action either by separate petitions or by surrounded tracts
which would result in all the nearby residential area as
noted being annexed.
In view of the data presented, staff recommends approval of
the petition.
