E., City Engineer <br /> SUBJECT: Consent to Assign and Assignment of Agreement for <br /> Maintenance of the Oakwood Business Association Street Lighting <br /> An item on the agenda for the November 20, 2000, City Council meeting is the execution of <br /> a consent to assign and assignment of an agreement for the maintenance of the Oakwood <br /> Business Association Street Lighting. <br /> In September 1998, the City entered into an agreement with Illinova Energy Partners (now <br /> Dynegy Energy Services, Inc.) to install and maintain ornamental street lighting on City streets in <br /> the area of Millikin University and the Oakwood Business Association. This agreement was for <br /> a period of 30 years. <br /> Dynegy has chosen to exit the street lighting maintenance field and has contacted Bodine <br /> Electric of Decatur to assume the agreement they are currently under with the City. <br /> Bodine Electric has been overseeing the maintenance and operation of this street lighting <br /> system since it became operational in 1999. City staff sees no reason to oppose the assignment <br /> of the agreement to Bodine Electric. <br /> Staff will be present to answer any questions the Council may have. <br /> Attach: 2 <br /> cc: John A.
