All work to be completed will be <br /> brought before City Council for final approval. <br /> Maintenance <br /> Routine maintenance after the completion of these improvements is imperative in collecting a <br /> return on investment. Staff has consulted with Mr. Dajnowski regarding annual maintenance <br /> costs for the restored sculptures. CSOS estimates annual maintenance obligations to be <br /> approximately $5,000 for all city-owned sculptures, including necessary scaffolding. This figure <br /> includes cleaning and waxing of the sculptures annually which will significantly prolong the life <br /> of the bronze surfaces. The columns of the Stephen Decatur monument, if cast in granite, will no <br /> longer require annual maintenance as granite is the most maintenance-free stone available for <br /> public art projects. <br /> Page 3 <br />
