E., City Engineer�� � � <br /> SUBJECT: Downtown Street Lighting Improvement <br /> City Project 2000-44 <br /> An item on the agenda for the November 20, 2000, City Council meeting is the acceptance <br /> of bids and award of a contract for improvements to the downtown street lighting system. <br /> This project will consist of installing new wire and repairing street lighting hand holes that <br /> serve as part of the overhead lighting system in the downtown. , <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by City Engineering. The project was <br /> advertised October 25, 2000, and bids were opened on November 13, 2000. The results of the <br /> letting are as follows: <br /> Compared to ' <br /> Engineer's Est. 'i <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under� , <br /> Engineer's Estimate $114,000.00 --- , <br /> Bodine Electric of Decatur $ 84,836.16 (-25.58%) ,, <br /> J.F. Edwards Construction Co. $123,716.00 8.52% <br /> Egizii Electric, Inc. $128,305.68 12.55% <br /> Funding for this project will be from the City's Capital Improvements Fund. <br />
