Howley, Mayor
City Council Members
FROM: Steve Garman, City Manager
Beth B. Couter, Director of Financial Management
J. Barry Leonard, Risk Manager
SUBJECT: EMPLOYEE LIFE 1NSURANCE
As part of the three-year remarketing of the Group Health program, we solicited
proposals for the City paid self-administered employee life insurance. Based on the proposal of
the four responders, we recommend that Metropolitan Life, through their broker, IRM/Acordia,
be awarded the contract for the period November 1, 2000, to October 31, 2001. The savings is
about $36,000 per year.
