ANDERSON PLAZA DECATUR, ILLINOIS 62523-1196
'/l l I N OS
October 9, 2000
TO: Honorable Mayor Terry M. Howley and City Council Members ,
FROM: Steve G City Manager
Paul McCh c , Mass Transit Administrator
pM
RE: Amended Ag eement with Decatur Taxi, Inc.
On September 18, 2000, the City Council approved an agreement with Decatur Taai, Inc., to
provide taxi service under the Transit System's subsidized taxi program for the disabled. The
subsidized taxi service complements the Transit System's wheelchair lift-equipped van program.
The agreement between the City and Decatur Taxi lists the fares charged by the cab company, to
be reimbursed monthly by the City. On October 1 st, Decatur Taxi raised their fares and
requested reimbursement for the higher fares, and requested weekly reimbursement instead of
monthly reimbursement.
Upon City Council approval, the attached resolationvill aut?:orize an amendment of the
approved agreement with Decatur Taxi, Inc., implementing the company's new fares and
permitting the company to invoice the City on a weekly basis. Staff recommends that this
amendment be approved. Staff is available to answer any questions.
Pride ol the Prairie
