Swanson, P.E., Acting Director of Wat r Management
John A. This water is treated and then put into
the City's water distribution system. Presently the RWPS controls are connected to the SWTP
through underground wires that enable staff to operate and monitor operations and conditions at
the RWPS. This existing control system needs to be replaced with a radio telemetry system so
the RWPS can be incorporated into the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
system being implemented by the City.
The City Council at its June 5, 2000, meeting approved an agreement with PC & E
Consulting Engineers to design the SCADA system and prepare plans and specifications. PC &
E completed the design and prepared the plans and specifications. The project was advertised for
bids and two bids were received and opened on September 21, 2000. The results of the bid
opening (a bid tabulation is attached)were as follows:
Compared to
Engineer's Est.
Bidder Bid Price Over (-Under
Engineer's Estimate $65,500.00 ---
Bodine Electric $54,586.00 (-16.66%)
Egizii Electric, Inc. $54,985.00 (-16.05%)
