Anderson Plaza
Decatur, Illinois 62523-1196
Re: City of Decatur Sediment Storage Site in Oakley Township
Dear Mayor and City Council,
On behalf of the Directors of the Macon County Soil & Water Conservation District, I am
writing in support of the City's plans to replace the upper and lower section of the subsurface
water drainage tile located on the east end of the Oakley Sediment Storage Site this Fall. The
District has recommended to the City several times in the past that this be done. This '
replacement should address the large majority of concerns that Oakley Township residents have
regarding this site. '
Our Board of Directors and agency also fully supports the city's plans to investigate the surface I
water drainage at the west end of the site this Fall. It is our understanding that this work may ,
include surveying and earth grading. ,

Additionally, as part of our agency s mission, the Macon County SWCD will continue to provide
technical assistance for and mediate the concerns of the parties impacted by the Oakley Sediment '
Storage Site. These parties include Oakley Township residents, Oakley Township Road '
Commissioner, Macon County Board, and the City of Decatur.
Sincerely, '
 r

Marilyn Parker
, Executive Director
cc: Rob Owen
', Roger Nelson
Andrew Black
Steve Garman
Steve Swanson
Keith Alexander
SWCD Board of Directors and District Staff
Fxhibit C
