Howley and City Council Members ', <br /> FROM: Steve G ity Manager <br /> Paul McC , Mass Transit Administrator��„�� <br /> RE: Agreement with Decatur Taxi for the subsidized taxi program for the disabled <br /> The City now has an agreement with Pride Midwest Services, Inc., doing business as Decatur <br /> Pride Checker Cab, to provide taxi service under the Transit System's subsidized t�i program <br /> for the disabled. The subsidized taxi service complements the Transit System's wheelchair <br /> lift-equipped van program. On May 1 the same agreement was offered to Decatur Taxi, Inc.,but <br /> this offer was declined at that time. Decatur Taxi, Inc., is now willing and able to accept the <br /> responsibilities of this agreement, and has requested that the City award them this contract. (see <br /> attached letter) <br /> Upon City Council approval, the attached resolution will authorize the City to enter into an <br /> agreement with Decatur Taxi, Inc., to provide taxi service under the Transit System's subsidized <br /> ta�ci program. Staffrecommends that this agreement be executed. Staff is available to answer <br /> any questions. <br />
