Od nigbo, P.E., Civil Engineer II (Sanitary Sewer)
SUBJECT: Southland Drive Sewer Outfall
City Project 2000-26
The project is the up-sizing of an approximately 50 year old 10 inch diameter vitrified clay
sanitary sewer outfall to a 14 inch diameter high density polyethelene (HDPE) sewer. This sewer
is located in US 51 from the intersection of Southland Drive and US 51, continues northwards
and terminates shortly before the bridge (see attached location map). The estimated length of the
sewer to be up-sized is 1,751 lineal feet. Residential and commercial developments that have
occuned in the area serviced by this sewer have caused the sewer to have insufficient capacity.
This problem is intensified during wet weather conditions. It is expected that this problem will
be corrected at the end of this project.
The Engineering Division prepaxed the plans and specifications for this project. The
project was advertised and bids were received, opened and read out loud on August 10, 2000.
The results of the bid opening (a bid tabulation is attached) are as follows:
