'  :  Enclosure (2}
ARCHITECTS
ENGNEERS
PER HOUR CHARGES PLUS DIRECT REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES
ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES COMPENSATION SCHEDULE - Cont'd
INVOICING:
Daily time and reimbursable expense records are maintained for all man-hours and reimbursable ,
expenses committed to the project. Invoices are submitted monthly for the work completed in the
previous month. Payment: Net 30 days.
PER HOUR ADJUSTMENT:
Straight time per hour rates are subject to change during long-term projects. Proposed rate
increases will be requested in writing and will be negotiated prior to invoicing at increased rates.
OVERTIME CHARGES:
Overtime charges are not stated. Such charges are committed only after client authorization.
Amount of such charges will be furnished upon request.
DIRECT REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES:
Expenses such as transportation, subsistence, telephone and telegraph tolis, reproductions,
computer machine time, subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, survey supplies, subcontract
expenses for special seniice such as legal, engineering, accounting, etc., and special licenses,
permits, insurance or bonds, are charged to the client at actual cost pius ten (10) percent handling.
Automobile mileage is charged at thirty-two cents ($0.32) per mile net (without markup).
ABBREVIATIONS AND DEFINITIONS:
P.T.R. - Project Technical Representative. An employee capable of doing
project architecture/engineering, or project management work.
Technologist - A technologist is educated in architectural or engineering theory; in
some instances may have an architectural or engineering degree or
education and training equal to such a degree.
NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT:
This is not a fixed proposal amount - it is a term used because a client's budgeting requirements
often lead to proposing an "Upset Limit" (a dollar maximum to be written into an agreement. The fee
basis method PER HOUR CHARGES PLUS DIRECT REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES is usually
chosen initially because of a possible uncertainty of scope of services. Accordingly, Blank,
Wesselink, Cook & Associates, Inc. company policy requires advise to the client when costs are
approaching 25%, 50%, or 75% of an agreed, "not-to-exceed" amount and to forecast the probable
total cost. This provision gives the client an opportunity to examine the progress at the 25%, 50%,
and 75% points and, if need be, to approve a figure larger (or smaller) than the original "not-to-
exceed amount."
zao,v2oass
