Newell, P.E., Traffic Engineer��� <br /> SUBJECT: Traffic Signal Improvements <br /> City Project 2000-09 <br />' An item on the agenda for the August 7, 2000, City Council meeting is the acceptance of <br /> bids and award of a contract for Traffic Signal Improvements at the intersections of PlaMor / <br /> 22nd Street, Firestone / 22nd Street, Pershing Court / Pershing Road, and Caterpillar North <br /> Entrance / 27th Street. <br /> This project will consist of installing new signal heads, posts, wiring and vehicle detection at <br /> the intersections of P1aMor / 22nd Street, Firestone / 22nd Street, and Pershing Court/ Pershing <br /> Road. The project will also modernize the traffic signals at the Caterpillar North Entrance /27th <br /> Street which will include new mastarms, signal heads, conduit, wiring and video vehicle <br /> detection. <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by the Traffic Engineer. The project was <br /> advertised July 12, 2000, and bids were opened on July 27, 2000. The results of the letting are as <br /> follows: <br /> Compared to <br /> Engineer's Est. <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under� <br /> Engineer's Estimate $154,200.04 --- <br /> Bodine Electric of Decatur $132,523.16 (-14.06%) <br /> Egizii Electric, Inc. $138,397.04 (-10.25%) <br />
