. .
OF'EC
= c
v
i:
'/[LINO`'
July 5, 2000
PUBLIC WORKS MEMORANDUM
NO. 2000 - 47
MEMORANDUM TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Steve Garman, City Manager
Bruce McNabb, P.E., Director of Public Works$
SUBJECT: Nitrate Design Grant: Signature Authority
In July, 1998, City Council authorized City Manager James L. Williams, Jr. to sign various
documents associated with the $500,000 grant from the State of Illinois for the design of the
nitrate removal equipment at the South Water Treatment Plant. The paperwork required to report
the final grant expenditures will soon be due to the State EPA. Since Mr. Williams is no longer
employed by the City, the State EPA has requested that the City designate another individual to
sign these documents. The attached Resolution authorizes Steve Garman to sign these
documents.
City staff recommends approval of the attached Resolution.
attach.
cc: Beth Couter
John Couter
John Smith
Celeste Harris
