Thompson, Neighborhood Program Specialist <br /> RE: Phase I -Environmental RFP Recommendation <br /> The Neighborhood Services Division issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) for the performance of <br /> 24 Phase I environmental surveys in the Near North Redevelopment Area. Three (3) firms <br /> submitted proposals for this project: Environmental Audit & Consultants, Inc. (EACI) of <br /> Vandalia, Illinois; Bodine Environmental Services, Inc. of Decatur; and Midwest Tank Testing of <br /> Rantoul, Illinois. <br /> City staff involved in the rating of these RFP's were Ralf Pansch, Neighborhood Renewal <br /> Administrator; Valencia Thompson, Neighborhood Program Specialists; Steve Swanson, City <br /> Engineer; and Thomas Odenigbo, Civil Engineer. All four (4) staff members employed a <br /> "10-point" rating system to score the proposals. <br /> Once tallied, two firms, Bodine and EACI, each scored the ma�mum ten (10) points, while <br /> Midwest Tank scored three (3) points. While Bodine and EACI each scored ten (10) points, <br /> Neighborhood Services staff recommends Bodine Environmental Services be awarded the <br /> contract. Reasons for this recommendation include: <br /> Fee: Bodine - $25,000 EACI - $38,400 <br /> Previous City work: Bodine - Yes EACI -No <br /> Timeline: Bodine - 60 to 90 days EACI -Up to 36 weeks (252 days) <br /> Staff is available for questions. <br />
