, , __
 Page 2
,
In early May, 2000, City staff requested proposals from private consulting firms in
Centrl Illinois to provide professional design services for the proposed connector. Three firms
responded to this request.
Blank, Wesselink, Cook&Associates, Inc.
Homer L. Chastain& Associates
WVP Corporation
The proposals were reviewed by a staff task force consisting of representatives from the
Public Works and the Economic and Urban Development Departments. The task force
determined that the proposals, in combination with staff's working knowledge of each firm,
provided adequate information to allow for a recommendation for a preferred design firm.
Following the task force recommendation, staff entered into negotiations with the selected firm,
Blank, Wesselink, Cook and Associates, Inc.
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached resolution to authorize an
agreement with Blank, Wesselink, Cook & Associates, Inc. to provide preliminary design
services for the Hubbard Avenue/Rea's Bridge Road Connector.
City staff will be available to answer questions that the Council may have at the meeting.
attach:3
cc: Stephen Swanson, City Engineer
Joselyn Collins, Transportation Planner
