The local agency is required to adopt a resolution , establishing a scope of work and providing an estimate of the anticipated maintenance cost. Once the City has adopted the resolution, it is forwarded onto IDOT for review. IDOT will review the City's proposed work and determine if the proposed work is an allowable MFT ' expenditure. IDOT will also determine if there is adequate funding for the proposed projects. The Engineering Division has prepared the required IDOT form for the Municipal Estimate of Maintenance Costs. The total amount in the resolution consists of the City's plarined street maintenance ($2,050,000), miscellaneous traffic signal improvements ($40,000) and U.S. , Highway 36 West street lighting ($22,000). These proposed expenditures are consistent with the � recently approved City Budget. The preparation of the estimate and the adoption of the resolution is required under State �I statute for the City to obtain use of its allocated MFT funds. � It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached " Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and Highways By Municipality Under the Illinois Highway Code" designating $2,147,000 of the City's MFT funds for the purpose of maintaining City streets, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign said resolution.
