Residents of this street have historically contacted <br /> the City about the condition of the brick pavement and the curb and gutters and the need for <br /> improvements. The City Council in November of last year approved a contract with Blank, <br /> Wesselink, Cook & Associates, Inc. (BWC) to prepare the plans and specifications for the <br /> improvements to Park Place. <br /> BWC completed the plans and specifications for the project. The improvements will <br /> consist of removing and replacing 1,770 feet of curb and gutter and the repair of brick paving that <br /> has settled at the north end of the street. The project was advertised for bids and four bids were <br /> received and opened on May 25, 2000. The results of the bid opening (a bid tabulation is <br /> attached) are as follows: <br /> Compared to <br /> Engineer's Est. <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under) <br /> Engineer's Estimate $ 66,536.50 --- <br /> Otto Baum Company, Inc. $ 48,343.00 (27.34) <br /> Entler Excavating Co., Inc. $ 55,266.00 (16.94) <br /> Christy-Foltz, Inc. $ 57,140.00 (14.12) <br />
