. . , ,
.r .
DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
 ' MEMORANDUM NO. 2000-051
April 10, 2000
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: Steve Garm ity Manager
Beth B. Coute , Director of Financial Management—
J. Barry Leon rd, Risk Manager
SUBJECT: EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM CONTRACT RENEWAL
St. Mary's Hospital is the provider of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and has
been since May 1988. We have gone out to bid on this service several times, and St. Mary's has
always been competitive. There is only one other similar service operating in this area. St.
Mary's latest client satisfaction survey shows continued high approval ratings.
The current annual contract renews May 1, 2000. There will be approximately a seven
percent (7%) increase for three of the services, and no change for the other four services. Staff
recommends renewal at the new rates.
Please advise if you have any questions.
