Application Criteria <br /> 1. Sculptures to be assessed include At Twenty-one I Came to Illinois and Lincoln the <br /> Lawyer. <br /> 2. A CPR form for Andrzej Dajnowski, Conservation of Sculpture and Objects Studio, is <br /> already on file with SOS! <br /> 3. City staffhas contacted the following individuals regarding CSOS's work: <br /> A. Mr. David Schneider, Champaign Park District, Champaign, Iilinois. <br /> B. Mr. E.K. Uhlir, Assistant to the Mayor, City of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois. <br /> C. Mr. Joe Belsan, Director of Engineering, Insignia/ESG, Chicago, Illinois. <br /> All of the parties contacted have high regard for the quality of CSOS's work, timeliness <br /> and bringing projects in within budget. Several of the references stated that Mr. <br /> Dajnowski was very thorough, knowledgeable and willing to work within a limited <br /> budget. He is also very cautious about modifying design, etc. <br /> 4. Discussion with CSOS indicated that Mr. Dajnowski will require $40 per day for meal <br /> allowance, $126 for mileage, and $75 for lodging (if needed). The City of Decatur <br /> Historical and Architectural Sites Commission(HASC) budget has funding set aside for <br /> these travel costs. <br /> 5. The City of Decatur is a not-for-profit municipal government. <br /> Millikin University is a not-for-proft private university. <br /> The Decatur Public Building Commission is a not-for-profit commission. <br /> 6. Letters from Millikin University and the Decatur Public Building Commission are attached. <br /> 7. CSOS may require lodging to assess these sculptures. The City of Decatur will provide <br /> lodging at the Holiday Inn Select in Decatur. There are adequate funds available in the <br /> HASC budget to cover this expense. Staff plans for Mr. Dajnowski to assess these sculptures in April or early May, 2000. <br /> Assessment reports will be submitted to the City of Decatur by May 31, 2000. The City of Decatur is planning on targeting private donations and conservation <br /> treatment grants initially to pay for the cost of rehabilitation of sculpture. City staffwill <br /> request additional funds if necessary for treatment. The City would like to consider <br /> having Mr. Dajnowski begin an annual treatment program for the sculptures, if funding <br /> can be made available. <br />
