Newell, P.E., Traffic Engineer <br /> SUBJECT: City-State Agreement Covering the Proposed Modernization of <br /> Traffic Signals at the Intersection of 22nd Street with Wood Street <br /> An item on the agenda for the March 13, 2000, City Council meeting is an agreement <br /> between the City of Decatur and the State of Illinois, Department of Transportation covering the <br /> proposed modernization of traffic signals at the intersection 22nd Street with Wood Street. <br /> All construction costs relative to this intersection will be borne by the City (5%, $2,000), <br /> State (5%, $2,000) and Federal (90%, $36,000) governments. Design and construction <br /> engineering costs will be borne by the City (5%, $300) and the State (95%, $5,700). The total <br /> estimated cost to the City is $2,300, which will be paid with Motor Fuel Tax funds. <br /> The City will continue to maintain and operate the completed traffic signals, 50% of which <br /> will be reimbursed by the State. As is currently the case, the City covers all electricity costs <br /> required to operate the traffic signals. <br /> Staff will be present to answer any questions the Council may have. <br /> attach: 2 <br />
