Colli s, J ., Director of Community Development, Planning& Transit <br /> Dane Bragg, Pla e <br /> RE: Save Outdoor Sculpture (SOS!) Assessment Grant Application <br /> Please find attached a grant application to Save Outdoor Sculpture (SOS!) to provide funding for <br /> the assessment of four Decatur sculptures: Commodore Stephen Decatur, Macon County's First <br /> Court House, Defense of the Flag and Abraham Lincoln's First Political Speech. If awarded, <br /> Conservation of Objects and Sculpture Studio (CSOS) of Chicago, Illinois will prepare <br /> assessments of the sculptures. Completion of the assessments will allow the City of Decatur to <br /> then apply for treatment funds during calendar year 2000. <br /> Estimates of cost for each assessment is $300 per sculpture. SOS! may grant full or partial <br /> awards for each sculpture in the application. The Historical and Architectural Sites Commission ' <br /> (HASC)will provide matching funds from their budget if grant awards do not cover the full cost <br /> of assessment. Total cost of assessment, excluding any grant funds, will not exceed $1,400.00. 'I <br /> Staff has contacted the Decatur Park District, Millikin University and Macon County regarding II <br /> submittal of grant applications for sculptures owned by their respective agencies.
