ATTACHMENT III <br /> AGENCY: TORRENCE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATION � <br /> PROJECT: "Glimpse of My Future Tutoring/After School Program" I <br /> PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The program will provide curriculum for students in the ls` I <br /> through 12t''grades. Each tutorial component is designed to identify academic problem areas of <br /> every student, help alleviate the problem and steer the child on a path of academic prosperity. <br /> Funds will be used to: provide transportation, acquire educational materials; as related to <br /> academics, social skills, career planning, money management/investments, music/dance, and <br /> recreation. <br /> FUNDING REQUESTED: $25,000 <br /> FUNDING RECOMMENDATION: ,�0 <br /> REVISED FUNDING RECOMMENDATION: 8 250 <br /> RATIONALE: Based on HUD statutory and regulatory requirements this program meets <br /> the national objective for benefit to low/moderate income persons. Staff <br /> will work with agency to ensure that it offers a quantifiable increase in <br /> service. Communication problems led to the agency not being available to <br /> attend the 10/25/99 Council meeting and the site visit. This does not <br /> reflect the agency's commitment to providing the service and staff is <br /> therefore recommending funding. <br /> , <br /> Page -9- <br />
