It is anticipated the selection of a firm will be completed by December 6, 1999. <br /> Following the notification of the selected firm it is expected a contract will be <br /> executed between both parties by December 31, 1999. <br /> B. Name and Telephone Number of Contact Person: <br /> The consultant's principal contact with the City of Decatur, will be <br /> Leslie A. Albert, Fire Chief, Decatur Fire Department, 1415 N. Water St., <br /> Decatur, Illinois, 62526, 217/424-2811,who will coordinate the assistance <br /> to be provided by the City of Decatur to the consultant. <br /> B. Background Information <br /> The City of Decatur serves an area of 46 square miles with <br /> a population of approximately 91,000. The City of Decatur has 521 <br /> full time and 27 part-time personnel The Decatur Fire Department has <br /> a 4 for an ISO rating.. <br /> C. Fire & Emergency Service Operations <br /> The Decatur Fire Department is headed by the Fire Chief and consists of 113 <br /> uniform and 2 civilian employees. The principal functions performed are <br /> as follows: <br /> a. Fire Suppression <br /> b. Emergency Medical Services <br /> c. Technical Rescue <br /> d. Fire Prevention <br /> e. Arson Investigation <br /> f. Training <br /> g. Administration/Support <br /> h. Apparatus <br /> i. Mutual Aid <br /> 2 <br />
