Perry, Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: LEAF HOPPER BIDS <br /> Attached you will find a bid summary for leaf hoppers. <br /> Funds for the equipment are from a DCCA grant. <br /> The low bid of ODB does not meet City of Decatur specificarions in the following area. <br /> City of Decatur ODB <br /> - The hopper gate shall have pins at - Gate will not have pins that lock �� <br /> the bottom on each side which will into the tailgate latches. The <br /> lock into the tailgate latches of the bottom of the door will have a <br /> dump truck. steel crossbar to keep the door ' <br /> closed. I <br /> The steel crossbaz will not be able to slide in and out because of existing spreader connections �I <br /> that aze already attached to the dump truck for snow removal functions. There is also a concern i <br /> for efficiency because the crossbar has to be manually removed and reinstalled each time a load I <br /> is dumped, instead of throwing a lever and being able to automatically dump the load without '� <br /> leaving the truck. I <br /> The second low bid of Rahn Equipment meets City of Decatur. specifications in the area <br /> mentioned above. <br /> It is staff recommendation to accept the low bid of Rahn Equipment to furnish four (4) 1999 <br /> Giant Vac custom leaf hoppers for$3510 each or$14,040 total. <br /> I <br />
