Perry, Purchasing Supervisor� <br /> SUBJECT: TOWING BIDS <br /> Attached you will find a bid summary for towing services. The bid was divided into two <br /> categories. Category I are Police Department authority tows. This category applies to vehicles <br /> now owned or leased by the City of Decatur which aze removed and/or impounded from the <br /> streets of the City under the order and direction of any City of Decatur police officer or <br /> Impoundment Officer. By way of example, but not limited to, this would include wrecked <br /> vehicles from accident scenes, removing vehicles which constitute a traffic hazard, removing <br /> vehicles that may be evidence of a crime, removing vehicles involving injury where the operator <br /> is unable to select an option, vehicles that need to be removed as a result of an arrest situation, <br /> and removing abandoned vehicles, etc. The chazges incurred for this category of the contract are <br /> to be paid by the individual receiving the service. <br /> Category II of the bid applies to towing of any City of Decatur owned, rented or leased vehicle <br /> which is out of service or is a seized vehicle. For example, this would include removing a <br /> wrecked vehicle from an accident scene, towing for a vehicle auction, jump starting a vehicle, <br /> repairing and changing flat tires, changing lamps and fuses, etc. This category also includes the <br /> storage of seized vehicles which may result in forFeitures. <br /> It is staff recommendation for Prairieland Towing to furnish towing services per their bid for the <br /> City of Decatur(Category II). Category I will be provided for$25.00 per tow, this amount will be � <br /> paid by the individuals receiving the service. !, <br />
