William , ., City Manager
Cecil A. Collins, ., Community Development Director.
Amina N. Everett, Neighborhood Services M nager
Shelith W. Hansbro, Neighborhood Planner +
Ralf Pansch, Neighborhood Renewal Administrator /.
SUBJECT: Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations (CONO) Agreement
Community Development Block Grant Funds in the amount of$30,000.00 have been set aside for
the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations (CONO). These funds were approved in the
1999/2000 budget and by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The funds
will be used for operating costs, a CPTED program for low/moderate income homeowners, and a
low/moderate income youth program.
CONO is the official organization, recognized by the Decatur City Council, to provide resources
and assistance to Decatur neighborhoods. CONO is envisioned to be an umbrella organization to
all neighborhood groups in the city and provide common ground for all neighborhood groups to
share needs and successes. The city government's interest is to build CONO into an important
organization that supports, not dictates, neighborhood development activities.
The attached resolution authorizes an agreement with CONO.
Attachment
