local contractor has indicated an interest in submitting a proposal for this project. Staffwelcomes <br /> the advice of Council as to the appropriate area or areas to be served in the Pilot project. Since <br /> this is a pilot project, visibility should be the most important criterion in choosing sites. Leaves <br /> will be vacuumed from the curbside of each participating residential property once a week for a <br /> period of ten weeks. These customers will not be billed for this service. <br /> The primary costs will be divided into two components—contractor fees(the cost of the <br /> collection service plus the cost of promotion)—and city staff time for planning, implementation, <br /> and com laint mana ement. The Contractor shall rovide and furni h 11 f h 1 r m <br /> p g p s a o t e abo , atenals, <br /> and transportation services required to perform and complete the collection and disposal of leaves <br /> from designated curbsides. The Contractor will be reimbursed on a weekly basis regardless of the <br /> number of households that participate. <br /> Staff has already finished a draft RFP and it is currently being reviewed by the Community <br /> Development Department Director. <br /> Requested Action �' <br /> Please approve the attached resolution authorizing the Community Development Director to I <br /> initiate the RFP process, and provide staffwith recommendations for an appropriate area for the <br /> project. <br />
