' ' (6) Incorporation of Provisions : The contractor shall <br /> . • include the provisions of paragraph (I) and (6) in every <br /> subcontract, including procurements of materials and leases <br /> � or equipment, unless exempt by the Regulations, or direc- <br /> tives issued pursuant thereto. The contractor shall take <br /> such_ action with respect to any subcontract or procurement � <br /> _ as the Recipient or the IIrban Mass Transportation Adminis- <br /> tration may direct as a means of enforcing such provisions, <br /> • inc2uding sanctions for noncompliance: Provided; however, <br /> that in the event a contractor becomes involved ia, or is <br /> threatened with, litigation with a subcontractor or supplier <br /> as a result of such direction, the contractor may request <br /> the Recipient to enter into such Iitigation to protect the <br /> interest of the Recipient, and, in addition, the contzactor <br /> ' may request the IInited States to enter iato such litigation <br /> to protect the interest of the IInited States. <br />
