C. The City of Decatur and the Macon County ETSB agree that the efficient and <br /> professional operation of the E9-1-1 PSAP/Emergency Communication Center is in the <br /> best interest of all citizens of Macon County. The City of Decatur agrees to work <br /> jointly with the Macon County ETSB to create policy and procedures that enhance the <br /> operation of the PSAP and that policy and procedures implemented within the <br /> Communication Center shall be submitted to the Macon County ETSB for their review. <br /> Policy and procedures will become binding on both parties upon approval of that policy <br /> and procedure statement upon approval by the Chief of Police for the City of Decatur <br /> (or designated representative) and the Macon County ETSB (or designated <br /> representative). The Macon County ETSB acknowledges the management rights of the <br /> City of Decatur to implement and enforce policy and procedures on their employees as <br /> granted by law and by agreement with any recognized labor union. <br /> VI <br /> MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENT <br /> A. In exchange for access to the recording systems for E-9-1-1 calls and in <br /> recognition that the City of Decatur has purchased, installed and maintained the <br /> recording system currently in use, the Macon County ETSB agrees to pay the expenses <br /> of repair, enhancement and replacement of said recording equipment. <br /> B. The City of Decatur shall be responsible for the maintenance fees for any <br /> existing telephone equipment currently installed in the Decatur Police Emergency <br /> Communication Center which remains in place after the transition to Enhanced 9-1-1 <br /> service. The Macon County ETSB shall be responsible for any telephone equipment <br /> purchased or installed as part of the implementation of the Enhanced 9-1-1 service. <br /> C. The Macon County ETSB shall be responsible for maintenance and upgrade of <br /> any computerized hardware or soflware which is installed by the Macon County ETSB <br /> as part of the transition to E-9-1-1 service including but not limited to the computers, <br /> monitors, networking equipment and soflware to be installed in the Macon County <br /> PSAP or back up PSAP not owned and maintained by the City of Decatur on the date of <br /> this agreement. <br /> VII <br /> MODIFICATIONS <br /> Any modifications, amendments, changes, insertions or deletions to this Agreement <br /> must be done in writing with the consent of and executed by all parties to this Agreement. <br /> 8 <br />
