. � <br /> AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> FOR THE <br /> CITY OF DECATUR <br /> SPRING CREEK-FEMA MAP REVISION <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 7th day of December, 1998, by and between the <br /> CTTY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS, hereinafter referred to as the "CITY", and BAINBRIDGE, <br /> GEE, MII,ANSHI & ASSOCIATES, INC., 1670 S. Taylorville Road, Decatur, Illinois 62521, <br /> hereinafter referred to as the "ENGINEER", covers professional engineering services in connection <br /> with the preparation of an application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for a revision <br /> to the flood plain map of S rin Creek from Monroe Street to Martin Luther Kin Jr. Drive in the <br /> P g 8 <br /> City of Decatur, hereinafter refened to as the "PROJECT". <br /> THEREFORE, in consideration of these premises and of the mutual covenants herein set forth, the <br /> Engineering Services sha11 consist of three Tasks: <br /> Task 1 The hydrology for the entire Spring Creek watershed will be developed using Bulletin 70 <br /> data and other accepted sources. The developed hydrology will be submitted to Office of <br /> Water Resources for approval. The hydraulic computer model of Spring Creek from <br /> Monroe Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. will be developed at this time. This model <br /> will be used to predict water profiles for required reoccurrence intervals including the 100- <br /> year occurrence event. The FEMA permit application MT-2 will be prepared and <br /> completed using existing data, plans, drawings and information. <br /> Task 2: The ENGINEER will, as directed by the CITY, respond to requests by FEMA in its <br /> application review process or to FEMA's final review comments. Said information may <br /> consist of clarifying information in the application; preparing additional information not <br /> included in the application that can be developed from the data, plans, drawings and <br /> information used to prepaze the application; and minor revisions that do not result in <br /> substantive changes to the report's documentation, analyses and/or findings. <br /> Task 3: The ENGINEER will estimate the cost and time needed to respond to information <br /> requested by FEMA not included in Task 2 and advise the CITY. Said information may <br /> include substantive changes to the application; the hydraulic modeling of Spring Creek <br /> outside the immediate PROJECT area; preparing information that cannot be developed <br /> from the data, plans, drawings and information used to prepare the application; or the <br /> e�rtensive acquisition andlor development of new or additional data, survey information, or <br /> field testing and investigations. <br /> The ENGINEER sha11 complete Tasks 1 and 2. If FEMA responds by requesting information <br /> beyond the scope of Tasks 1 and 2,the ENGINEER shall then complete Task 3. The ENGINEER <br /> will not proceed beyond Task 3 unless authorized in writing by the CITY. <br /> The CITY agrees to pay for all engineering based on time spent on each of the individual Tasks in <br /> accordance with the following: <br /> BGM 98083 (11/11/98) Page 1 of 2 <br />
