RESOLUTION NO. R98-150 <br /> RESOLUTION CELEBRATING <br /> THE UNITY OF ALL CITIZENS <br /> Whereas, our strength and greatness as a community and nation is based on our unity and <br /> our willingness to allow all people input and participation; and, <br /> Whereas, racism and other forms of discrimination still continue to plague our nation; <br /> and, <br /> Whereas, local efforts have helped raise awareness about discrimination and mobilized <br /> community members to heal social divisions which can be cultivated through further dialogue, I <br /> education and awareness; and, i <br /> Whereas, all citizens should consider the impact of race relations upon the quality of our <br /> community and work together to eliminate discrimination; and, <br /> Whereas, community members encourage the celebration of our differences and call for a <br /> reconciliation between the races. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1.
