Smith, Water Production Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Joint Funding Agreement with U.S. Geological Survey <br /> for Streamflow Gauging Stations <br /> Attached is the annual Joint Funding Agreement with the Water Resources Division, U.S. <br /> Geological Survey, United States Department of the Interior for Federal fiscal year 1998-99. This <br /> Agreement is for the necessary field and analytical work and operation of the streamflow gauging <br /> stations on the Sangamon River 'at Monticello (upstream of Lake Decatur), and Route 48 <br /> (downstream of the Lake Decatur dam). The City's share is $8,814.00 and will be billed in <br />'� October, 1999. <br /> Payment of the fee allows the City of Decatur to access (with a computer) the real-time data <br /> on streamflow occurring on the Sangamon River upstream of Lake Decatur and downstream of <br /> the Lake Decatur dam. This data is of vital importance to the City in managing the level of Lake <br /> Decatur both during excess rainfall/flood events and during periods of low/no flow. <br /> The City of Decatur has been a cooperator with the Water Resources Division since the early <br /> 1980's. The fee varies from year to year and has been as high as $10,800.00. The fee for 1998 <br /> was $8,807.00. <br /> Staff recommends approval of the Agreement and will be available to answer questions. <br /> Attach.: 2 <br />
