E., City Enginee����Y� <br /> ' �l <br /> SUBJECT: CDBG Sidewalk Replacement Program <br /> City Project 9822 <br /> The City received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of <br /> $100,000.00 for sidewalk replacement. Sidewalk to be replaced involves sections of sidewalk <br /> that are severely cracked; have excessive displacement from settlement or heaving; or the surface <br /> of the sidewalk is rough from spalling and/or age. <br /> The area in this year's program is generally bordered by 17th Street on the west, Eldorado <br /> Street on the north, 21st Street/Route 36 on the east, and Wood Street on the South (refer to <br /> attached location map). The work includes the replacement of appro�mately 28,850 square feet <br /> (5,770 feet of 5 foot wide sidewalk) of sidewalk. <br /> The Engineering Division prepared the project contract documents and the project was <br /> advertised for bids. Four bids were received for this project. Bids were opened on September 29, <br /> 1998. The results of the bid opening(a bid tabulation is attached) are as follows: <br />
