Newell, P.E., Traffic Engineer�� <br /> SUBJECT: Trat�'ic Signal Improvements <br /> City Project 9809 <br /> An item on the agenda for the September 8, 1998 City Council meeting is the acceptance <br /> of bids and award of a contract for trai�'ic signal improvements at the intersections of Main/ <br /> Water, Wood/Water, Wood/Monroe, Martin Luther King/Garfield, and Jasper/Garfield. <br /> This project will consist of replacing the existing old traffic signals at the intersections of <br /> Main/Water, Wood/Water and Wood/Monroe with state of the art signal equipment including <br /> 12-inch signal heads, new wiring/conduit and vehicle detection. The project will also add vehicle <br /> detection and new wiring at the intersections of Martin Luther King/Garfield and Jasper/Garfield. <br /> The improvements are aimed at improving the safety and reliability of the City's traffic control <br /> infrastructure. <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by the Traffic Engineer. The project <br /> was advertised August 12, 1998, and bids were opened on August 31, 1998. The results of the <br /> letting are as follows: <br />
